Reverse description A plain Latin cross occupies the central field, its arms extending nearly to the inner border, with a single pellet placed in each of the four quarters formed by the cross. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, itself surrounded by a partially legible Latin peripheral legend. The hammered fabric gives the flan a characteristic irregular outline typical of 11th-century German ecclesiastical coinage.
