Obverse description A plain cross occupies the central field, set within an inner beaded circle, with the Greek letters alpha (A) and omega (Ω) pendant from the lower arms of the cross, referencing Christian symbolism. The surrounding legend runs clockwise between the inner and outer circles in debased Latin capital letters. The flan is irregular and slightly cracked, characteristic of hammered feudal coinage of the period.
