Obverse description Central field occupied by a Carolingian-style interlaced monogram of cursive design, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The monogram, rendered in the Carolingian tradition, features interwoven letters with curved and angular strokes. A partial Latin legend surrounds the beaded circle in the outer field, fragmentary and partially legible, reading ✠ [ ] ИO [ ] OИG. The flan is irregular and the relief is worn, consistent with a hammered medieval silver denier of the late 10th to early 11th century.
