| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field bears a bold pattée or slightly concave cross with triangular or wedge-shaped arms, enclosed within a plain raised inner circle. The cross arms extend nearly to the inner circle, with the field between arms left plain. A radiating border of short radial lines encircles the inner ring, consistent with the obverse treatment. The surrounding legend AMBIANIS, identifying the mint city of Amiens, is rendered in crude medieval Latin capitals preceded by a cross, on an irregular hammered flan typical of 12th-century northern French feudal coinage. |
