Reverse description A plain cross with broad arms extending to the inner beaded border, occupying the center of the coin and dividing the field into four quadrants. The surrounding legend, reading VDON CΛOSTO, references the castle (castrum) of Vendôme, separated by a cross pattée at the opening of the inscription. The lettering is rendered in a characteristic Romanesque style with mixed letterforms, including a reversed Lambda used in place of the letter A. The beaded inner circle frames the cross neatly, with the legend distributed evenly in the surrounding annular field.
