| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field bearing a bold cross pattée with broad, splayed arms occupying the inner circle, surrounded by a beaded border. Beyond the beaded circle runs a circular Latin legend invoking Saint Audoenus (Saint Ouen), the patron of the issuing abbey. The lettering is rendered in the angular Carolingian epigraphic style, with certain letters showing archaic or variant forms characteristic of tenth-century Norman ecclesiastical coinage. The flan is irregular and the strike slightly uneven, consistent with hammered production. |
