Obverse description Facing helmeted bust of the Margrave depicted in half-length, holding an upright sword in the right hand and bearing an eagle-emblazoned shield in the left; a small cross appears in the upper right field. The figure is rendered in the bold, stylized relief characteristic of late 13th-century North German bracteate-influenced coinage, with the helmet rendered with a prominent crest.

Reverse description A centrally placed lily staff (fleur-de-lis scepter) flanked symmetrically on either side by a helmeted eagle-shield, each shield bearing the Brandenburg eagle device. The composition is arranged in a heraldic, strictly frontal manner within the plain round field, typical of anonymous Hohenzollern margravial issues of the late 13th century.
