Reverse description A cross in the center of the field, distinguished by a small ringlet at its center point and a transverse bar crossing the upper arm, giving it a distinctive anchored appearance. The four quarters of the cross are decorated alternately: pellets or globules occupy the first and second quarters, while small ringlets occupy the third and fourth quarters. The overall composition is typical of anonymous Norman denier reverse types of the early twelfth century, with no surrounding legend, the field left plain beyond the decorative quarter fillings.
