| Obverse description | Central pattée cross occupying the field, with a single pellet placed in each of the four quarters formed by the arms of the cross. The design is rendered in low relief consistent with early twelfth-century Norman hammered coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, reading NORMANNA, denoting the duchy of Normandy. The flan is irregularly shaped, a characteristic feature of medieval hand-struck deniers. |

| Reverse description | A cross in the center of the field, distinguished by a small ringlet at its center point and a transverse bar crossing the upper arm, giving it a distinctive anchored appearance. The four quarters of the cross are decorated alternately: pellets or globules occupy the first and second quarters, while small ringlets occupy the third and fourth quarters. The overall composition is typical of anonymous Norman denier reverse types of the early twelfth century, with no surrounding legend, the field left plain beyond the decorative quarter fillings. |
