A Latin legend referencing Emperor Otto runs in the outer field between the beaded circle and the coin's irregular rim. The design is struck in the Ottonian hammered tradition, with bold, deeply incised cross arms and prominent pellets characteristic of episcopal coinage from the Lower Rhine region. |
