| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field bearing the retrograde inscription COMITS within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding retrograde circular legend reads + SCVTINCORM COMITS, referencing the County of Scodingue. The die is crudely executed in the Romanesque hammered style typical of eleventh-century French feudal coinage, with irregular flan edges and uneven relief. Letter forms are characteristic of provincial workshops of the period. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The County of Scodingue remains one of the more obscure Frankish lordships of the 11th century, and its anonymous deniers reflect exactly that obscurity — attribution has long been contested among French regional numismatists, with Boudeau's classification itself a matter of ongoing debate. Anonymous issues of this type were common across petty counties that lacked the political weight to assert a named coinage, minting instead under ecclesiastical or feudal sanction without identifying the specific lord.
