| Obverse description | Facing bust of Saint Remaculus, patron saint and founding bishop of Stavelot-Malmedy Abbey, rendered in the crude Ottonian-Romanesque style typical of Rhenish ecclesiastical deniers of the late 11th century. The figure is depicted with schematic facial features and simplified drapery lines radiating from the bust, enclosed within a beaded inner circle.
