The Nitiobroges occupied territory in what is now the Lot-et-Garonne department of southwestern France, a region that sat along critical trade routes between the Atlantic coast and the Mediterranean interior. Their silver coinage reflects sustained contact with Roman monetary practice in the late Republican period, though the imagery took a distinctly local trajectory as the century wore on. The century-long date range assigned to this type reflects genuine uncertainty — Gaulish tribal coinage resists precise attribution, and LT 4127 has not been tied to a specific historical moment with confidence.
