| Obverse description | Within a plain inner circle, a bold cross pattée with slightly flared arms occupies the central field. The cross is rendered in relief against a flat flan typical of hammered billon coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the inner circle, reading between two linear borders, the whole presenting the characteristic rough, irregular flan edge of medieval Hospitaller small coinage. |
