Obverse description A crowned lion passant or rampant to the right, rendered in the bold, stylized manner characteristic of late 12th-century Germanic bracteate coinage, contained within a beaded or linear inner circle. Two six-pointed stars and two pellets (dots) are distributed in the field flanking the lion. A surrounding legend occupies the space between the inner circle and the coin's irregular edge, though the lettering is often partially legible due to the thin flan typical of bracteate manufacture.

Reverse description Blank reverse, as is standard for bracteate coinage of this period, in which the design is struck on a single thin silver flan from one die only, leaving the reverse with a mirror-image incuse impression of the obverse design rather than an independent type.
