| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse bears a multi-line Cyrillic inscription filling the entire field of the irregularly shaped flan, identifying the appanage prince Alexander Ivanovich as co-issuing authority. The lettering is arranged in four or five horizontal lines, occupying nearly the full surface without a central device. The script is characteristic of early 15th-century Russian chancery hand as rendered by a die-cutter, with letters of varying regularity. A small decorative stop or ornament is visible between word elements. The inscription names Prince Alexander Ivanovich, lord of Serpukhov-Borovsk, in a formula typical of joint-authority dengas of this period. |
