Obverse description Irregular flan bearing the Islamic Shahada inscription in Arabic script, arranged across the field in multiple lines within a plain border. The legend, reading 'There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God,' is rendered in a bold, somewhat cursive hand characteristic of Tatar-influenced Muscovite wire money of the early 15th century. The letters are deeply struck but show typical distortion due to the irregular wire-cut planchet. No figurative motif is present; the design is purely epigraphic. The overall style reflects the close monetary and political relationship between the Grand Principality of Moscow and the Golden Horde.
