| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays an ornamental composition of interlaced longevity knots, a decorative motif commonly found on early Moscow dengas and reflecting Mongol-Tatar artistic influence on Russian coinage of the period. The knotwork design fills much of the irregular flan, rendered in low relief with characteristic roughness of hand-struck medieval coinage. A partial Cyrillic legend surrounds or accompanies the central device, reading ПЕЧАТЬ В... (seal of...), referencing the princely seal. The overall design exhibits the bold, schematic style typical of the Moscow mint under Vasily I. The flan is irregular and slightly cracked at the edges, consistent with the hammered production technique of the era. |
