Obverse description Armored horseman advancing to the right, depicted in a flowing cloak and brandishing a sword aloft, rendered in the crude but vigorous style characteristic of early Muscovite wire money. A stylized human head appears beneath the horse in the lower field, a distinctive diagnostic feature of this emission. A Cyrillic border legend encircles the design along the periphery of the irregular flan. The overall fabric is characteristic of hammered wire coinage, resulting in an uneven, slightly convex surface.
