| Obverse description | Cyrillic inscription occupying the entire field, arranged in multiple lines across the flan, reading the title and name of Grand Prince Vasily. The lettering is boldly struck in the characteristic style of early Muscovite wire money, with individual characters rendered in a compact, angular hand. The legend is disposed within a plain, unbordered field on the irregularly shaped flan typical of hammered wire-cut coinage. In some die varieties the legend lines are separated by ruled horizontal strokes. |
