Obverse description Multi-line Cyrillic inscription filling the field, reading the titles and name of Grand Prince Vasily, arranged in three lines within a beaded border. The legend is the sole design element on this face, rendered in the angular script characteristic of early Muscovite coinage. The irregular flan shape and hand-struck technique are typical of Russian wire money production of this period.
