| Obverse description | A mounted horseman depicted in profile facing right, brandishing a sword raised above his head, executed in the characteristic flat relief of early Moscow wire money. The letters ИВА appear in the lower field beneath the horse. A circular Cyrillic legend surrounds the central device, reading КНЯЗЬ ВЕЛИКИЙ ВАСИЛИЙ ИВАНОВИЧ МОС, identifying the issuer as Grand Prince Vasiliy Ivanovich of Moscow. The flan is irregular in shape, typical of hand-cut wire money of the period, with the design partially visible depending on flan coverage. |
