Peter III ruled for just 186 days before Catherine II's coup in July 1762 ended his reign — and his life, shortly after. Coins struck in his name were produced across only a fraction of that window, and many were subsequently melted or overstruck as Catherine moved to erase the coinage of her deposed husband. The Denga denomination was struck at multiple mints simultaneously during this period, and attributing individual pieces to specific facilities remains complicated by inconsistent mint mark practice.
