Reverse description The reverse bears a three-line Cyrillic inscription filling the entire field of the oval flan, reading from top to bottom. The bold, raised lettering is executed in an archaic Cyrillic hand characteristic of mid-16th century Muscovite coinage, with a decorative titlo abbreviation mark visible above the uppermost line. The inscription proclaims the title and name of the issuing ruler, Ivan, Grand Duke of Moscow, and is strongly struck despite the small module and irregular planchet form.
