Obverse description A mounted warrior in right profile, depicted as a horseman brandishing a raised sword, rendered in the flat linear style characteristic of late medieval Russian coinage. The horse is shown in full gallop, with the rider's cloak or garment suggested by the die engraving. Below the hooves of the horse appear the Cyrillic letters 'СЛ' in the field, serving as a mintmaster's or workshop mark. The overall composition is enclosed within the irregular flan typical of hammered silver coinage of the Moscow principality.
