Reverse description A stylized three-petalled floral motif occupies the central field, a characteristic ornamental device found on Muscovite denga coinage of the Ivan III period. A Cyrillic inscription naming the Grand Prince surrounds or accompanies the central design, rendered in the crude wire-drawn hammered technique characteristic of this issue. The irregular planchet results in portions of the legend frequently being partially off-flan.
