| Reverse description | Multiple lines of Cyrillic inscription filling the entire field of the coin, arranged in horizontal registers across the irregular flan. The legend reads the title and name of the issuing prince, proclaiming his authority as Grand Prince Boris Alexandrovich of Tver. The lettering is struck in a characteristic medieval Russian hand with angular, compressed forms typical of mid-fifteenth century Tverite coinage. The inscription occupies virtually the entire reverse, leaving little or no decorative border. Strike quality varies across the surface, with some letters showing weakness at the flan's irregular edges. |
