| Obverse description | Irregular oval flan of hammered copper struck from a wire-cut blank, displaying a stylised equestrian figure typical of Russian wire money (чешуйка) of the mid-seventeenth century. The design, rendered in low relief with crude workmanship characteristic of the Pskov Mint's emergency copper coinage, shows the mounted rider facing right. The field is largely uneven due to the irregular planchet preparation, and the strike is partially flat in areas, consistent with the poorly controlled production of the Copper Riot-era issues. No clear legend is discernible on this side. |
