| Obverse description | Central cross pattée enclosed within a beaded inner circle, its four quadrants each adorned with a trefoil ornament in relief. The cross arms extend to the inner circle, creating a bold geometric composition typical of northern Italian communal coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the inner circle within the outer beaded border, reading BRI SIA, identifying the issuing commune of Brescia. The flan is irregular and somewhat clipped at the edges, consistent with hammered medieval production. |
