| Obverse description | A bold cross potent occupies the central field, enclosed within a raised reeded inner circle. The quadrants formed by the arms of the cross are decorated with small cross-pattée ornaments, visible between the inner circle and the outer border. The surrounding legend, introduced by a cross, reads FERARIA in Latin characters. The overall design is characteristic of the Romanesque hammered coinage tradition of northern Italy, with a flan of irregular round shape. |

| Reverse description | Within a raised reeded inner circle, the initial letters F, D, R, and C are arranged in cruciform disposition around a central pellet, each letter occupying one quadrant and representing the imperial title of Frederick II (Fredericus Dei Romanorum Caesar). The spaces between the inner circle and the outer border are filled with ornamental crescent and pellet devices, giving the design a rich decorative quality. The surrounding legend, introduced by a cross, names the Emperor. The entire composition reflects the widespread imperial denaro tradition of 13th-century northern Italy. |
