Obverse description Central device depicting the crowned arms of Padova — a crowned shield bearing horizontal wavy lines (barry wavy), rendered in low relief typical of late medieval hammered billon coinage. The crown surmounting the shield features trefoil ornaments. The abbreviated legend surrounds the central device, separated by pellet stops, with the cross pattee serving as the initial mark. The flan is irregular and slightly cupped, consistent with hand-hammered production of the early fifteenth century.
