In his right hand he holds a patriarchal cross and in his left a book (Gospel), with a small eagle shield displayed at his side dividing the surrounding legend. The figure is rendered in the stylized, flat manner typical of northern Italian hammered denari of the early 14th century, with the legend distributed on either side of the figure. |
