| Obverse description | Central field depicts a large heraldic eagle displayed, with wings spread and head turned to the left, rendered in bold relief typical of 14th-century north Italian hammered coinage. The eagle's plumage is indicated by stylized feather striations across the wings and breast. The design is contained within a plain inner circle, with the peripheral legend running along the outer border between two concentric lines. The lettering is executed in Gothic uncial characters. The overall composition follows the imperial eagle typology associated with the temporal authority of the Patriarchate of Aquileia. |
