Treviso's communal coinage was always precarious. The city had long operated under shifting overlordships, and this issue falls precisely in the narrow window between the end of Rizzardo VI da Camino's rule and the city's submission to Cangrande della Scala in 1318 — a moment of effective interregnum when the commune briefly reasserted direct control over its mint.
