Obverse description Bare head of the youthful Liber (Dionysus/Bacchus) facing right, the hair rendered in fine undulating strands and bound with an ivy wreath, the leaves and berries of which are rendered in delicate relief. The facial features are classically modelled with a smooth cheek, well-defined eye, and slightly parted lips indicative of Hellenistic artistic influence. A pendant or earring is visible at the ear. The field is plain and the type is anepigraphic, the border formed by a ring of small beads.
