| Beschrijving keerzijde | Personification of Victory depicted as a draped female figure seated to the left upon a throne or seat, holding a patera (libation dish) in her extended right hand and a cornucopia (horn of plenty) in her left hand. The reverse is anepigraphic, bearing no legend or inscription. The composition is balanced and classically conceived, drawing on established Julio-Claudian iconographic traditions. The Victory type was commonly employed by short-reigning emperors to assert military legitimacy and divine favor. The die engraving is crisp, with drapery rendered in careful detail. |
