She holds a patera in her extended right hand and a long sceptre in her left, both attributes emblematic of her divine role as guardian of Rome's eternal fire. The reverse legend PONT MAXIM appears in the field around the figure, asserting Vitellius's claim to the title of Pontifex Maximus, Rome's chief priest.
