The portrait is rendered in the late Republican style with fine engraving of the vegetal wreath and naturalistic facial features. The flan is irregular and struck within a border of beaded dots. No legend appears on the obverse. |

The moneyer's name C•VIBIVS VARVS is inscribed in the exergue in Latin letters. The entire design is enclosed within a border of beaded dots, and the composition alludes to the Bacchic thiasos, referencing the gens Vibia's traditional association with the cult of Liber. |
