Reverse description A panther or feline leaping to the right over a lighted altar or cista mystica set on a low base, the animal rendered with dynamic energy; above, a vine branch with grapes and leaves curves across the upper field. The moneyer's name C•VIBIVS VARVS is inscribed in the exergue in Latin letters. The entire design is enclosed within a border of beaded dots, and the composition alludes to the Bacchic thiasos, referencing the gens Vibia's traditional association with the cult of Liber.
