Obverse description Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and a strong, mature physiognomy characteristic of Flavian portraiture. The bust is bare, presenting the emperor's likeness with austere realism typical of early Flavian coinage from the Rome Mint. The encircling legend reads IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG in Latin characters, running clockwise around the periphery of the flan. The field is otherwise plain, and the coin's irregular flan shows typical characteristics of hand-hammered production.
