Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Vespasian facing right, rendered in the naturalistic portraiture style characteristic of Flavian coinage, with strong facial features and a wreath of laurel leaves encircling the head. The effigy is positioned centrally within an irregularly shaped flan, typical of hand-struck Roman imperial silver coinage. The encircling legend is partially visible around the portrait, interrupted by the coin's uneven edge. The die work reflects the competent craftsmanship of the Rome mint workshops under Vespasian's early reign.
