(Translation: Imperator Caesar Vespasianus Augustus Pontifex Maximus, Consul Quartum. Supreme commander (Imperator) Caesar Vespasian, emperor (Augustus), high priest, consul for the fourth time.)
Reverse description The goddess Concordia seated left upon a throne or chair, draped, holding a patera in her extended right hand and a double cornucopia (or sceptre) in her left. The figure is rendered in the classicising style of Flavian reverse types, conveying stability and imperial harmony. The seated deity occupies the central field, with the reverse legend CONCORDIA AVGVSTI distributed around the periphery. The design celebrates the unity and concord of the emperor's reign, a prominent propagandistic theme of Vespasian's early coinage.
