A small star or control mark appears below the inscription within the wreath. Above AVG, a small circular device or control mark is visible. The spare, typologically reduced design — foregoing a figural type in favour of a plain titular legend within a laurel wreath — is characteristic of a distinct issue struck at the Rome mint during AD 74, associated with RIC II.1 1459. |
