The horse is depicted in a dynamic striding pose, conveying martial authority and imperial triumph. The reverse type alludes to Trajan's celebrated military campaigns, most notably the Dacian wars. The field is relatively plain, with the abbreviated dedicatory legend of the Senate and Roman People distributed in the exergue and surrounding field. |
