| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, draped and cuirassed, with the paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the confident, naturalistic portrait style characteristic of Trajanic coinage, with strong facial features and a wreath of laurel leaves secured about the head. The encircling Latin legend runs from the lower left around the upper field, recording Trajan's full imperial titulature. The flan is slightly irregular, as is typical of hand-struck Roman silver coinage of this period. |
