| Beschrijving keerzijde | Standing figure of Felicitas, the personification of happiness and prosperity, depicted draped and facing left in a composed contrapposto stance. In her raised right hand she holds a caduceus, the staff entwined with serpents symbolising commerce and divine favour, while her left hand bears a cornucopiae overflowing with abundance. The reverse legend, distributed across the upper and lower fields, attributes the issue to the Senate and Roman People in honour of Trajan. The composition is typical of the allegorical reverse types employed on Trajanic denarii to convey the blessings of his reign. |
