Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in the high-relief portrait style characteristic of the Trajanic period. The laureate wreath is tied with ribbons falling behind the neck, and the paludamentum is fastened at the shoulder, partially visible beneath the bust truncation. The circumferential legend in Latin capital letters runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan. The portrait displays the strong, idealised features typical of official imperial iconography under Trajan.
