Reverse description Radiate and draped bust of Sol, the sun god, facing right, depicted with the characteristic crown of solar rays emanating from his head, rendered in fine engraving typical of Rome Mint Trajanic issues. The god is shown with a youthful, idealized countenance and a draped shoulder, consistent with conventional Roman iconography for solar deities. The reverse legend encircles the bust, distributed across the upper and lower periphery of the flan, referencing Trajan's Parthian title and his major civic and religious offices. The field is relatively plain, focusing attention on the central divine effigy. This reverse type was introduced following Trajan's assumption of the title Parthicus in AD 114, celebrating his eastern conquests under divine solar patronage.
