| 背面描述 | The river god Danuvius (personification of the River Danube) is depicted semi-nude, reclining to the left upon rocks, with his head turned to the right. A billowing cloak floats dramatically behind his figure. His right hand rests upon the prow of a ship, referencing Roman naval dominance on the Danube frontier, while his left elbow is supported by a rock. Characteristic river-god attributes — bundles of reeds — are shown over both arms, reinforcing the fluvial symbolism. The reverse legend, divided around the field, proclaims the titles and senatorial acclamation of Trajan as Optimus Princeps, and names the river deity DANVVIVS explicitly, making this one of the few Roman coins to identify a river god by name in the legend. |
