The composition is a classic triumphal type referencing the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70. The reverse legend TR P IX IMP XV COS VIII P P is distributed around the design field in Latin capitals. The trophy, consisting of arms and armour mounted on a post, occupies the central position between the two figures. The style and iconography are consistent with Flavian commemorative reverses struck at Rome. |
